About Us
BMT is managed by three directors Brendan Farrugia, Tom Plenty and Bradley Beer, providing an Australia wide service. BMT has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Newcastle, Adelaide, Perth, Gold Coast, Cairns, Canberra, Hobart and Darwin.
BMT commenced business in 1997 with offices in Sydney and Newcastle. The demand from investors in Victoria and Queensland led to the opening of offices in each capital city. In recent years the amount of return clients investing in property throughout Australia has led to opening offices in Adelaide, Canberra and Perth. In 2008 dues to explosive growth in the Queensland property market has seen BMT open two additional offices – in Cairns and Southport. In 2010 the growing need for depreciation specialists saw us open new offices in Darwin and Hobart. The result of this was BMT can now offer services to every Australian state and territory ensuring every Australian investor can claim and maximise depreciation deductions.
Staff numbers have grown accordingly, with over 120 full time staff now employed throughout Australia. BMT believe the repeat business from property investors, real estate professionals, accountants and the like is testament to the product and service delivered. After more than 13 years in the industry, BMT have exceeded all expectations of growth, customer service and reporting standards.
We believe our dramatic growth is the best demonstration of our commitment to our clients and alliances, as we have grown based on repeat business and a solid referral base. No mergers, acquisitions or franchising of the business have helped ensure that the commitment to our clients and referrals has remained our primary focus.
Tom Plenty B. Con. Mgt (Hons1), MRICS, AAIQS
Tom Plenty has over 15 years experience in the building and construction industry. During this time his involvement in projects has been varied to include cost planning, tax depreciation and project management.
Tom completed his Construction Management degree at honours level and subsequently lectured students at a tertiary level. His broad technical understanding of construction and working knowledge of quantity surveying services has enabled him to provide clients with maximum tax depreciation deductions. Tom also develops staff to ensure his wealth of knowledge is shared amongst the BMT group of companies.
Tom is a driving force behind the client first and foremost principles BMT deliver to all clients.
Brendan Farrugia B. Con. Mgt (Hons), MRICS, AAIQS, ICECA
Brendan Farrugia is a founding Director of the BMT group of companies. His quantity surveying experience coupled with his business acumen ensures that all systems support a client first and foremost philosophy.
Brendan has lectured at a tertiary level to students in construction management and quantity surveying. Brendan stays abreast of industry developments attending conferences both domestically and internationally.
Brendan is passionate about staying abreast of industry developments and enjoys exceeding clients expectations, whilst encouraging a healthy work life balance.
Bradley Beer B. Con. Mgt, AAIQS, MRICS
Bradley Beer has over 10 years experience in the quantity surveying industry. Involved in working with Australia’s largest real estate and financial organisations, Brad ensures that investors maximise their tax depreciation entitlements.
In addition to Brad’s work with large organisations, he is a recognised public speaker at events in the property and investment industry. Brad ensures that every individual property investor right through to large investment conglomerates are fully educated on their claims.
